I will also officially add 'Walk Like an Egyptian' to that list, Stephanie. The Bangles, for the most part, are irrelevant. But that song is awesome. A 45 of that song was the first recording that I ever purchased.

God no, any song but "Dont pass me by". That's the worst song on the White Album besides "Revolution 9". I believe a better Beatles song from that era would be "Not Guilty". Parrish could do the hapsichord part and Matt could really work out on guitar at the end.

i'm not for yelling out covers, but at the same time, i enjoy hearing them- especially when they're done as well as jet was. obviously it's sensible to request that the band play something original before asking for a cover.

Air Supply...they had a song called 'Making Love Out of Nothing at All'. That is one hell of a song title...Making love...out of...nothing...at...all!

and in response to lauren's request for the cure's "close to me"-- unfortunately the get up fucking kids covered that on some album of theirs. for some reason i've got it in my head that once a somewhat reputable band covers a song (or a shitty band records a version of it) no one else should touch it.

They should NOT cover Weezer. Bands currently making music should not be covered by any band trying to go somewhere. Even if they went back to Weezer's first album, that's far too recent.

They should stick to covers from the 80s and before if they decide to add some to their set. I think it's good enough right now without a cover.

I like Jamie better of the two. My favorite Weezer B-Side would have to be Mykel and Carli, though. That's a very good song.

Bimbo's is great simply because of it's name. However, my favorite place in Loudon County is the Shell station on the other side of Fort Loudon dam. It's one of the few places that sells Stingray 100 candy cigarettes.

I was looking through some older posts and came across this topic. I didn't read most of what everyone else posted so I'm not sure if this song has already been suggested or not, but if I could choose any song for the Features to cover it would be "Editions of You" by Roxy Music.

I think it would be interesting if the band took a detour into psychadelia and played Pink Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive."

You guys are probably right. Apples and Oranges and Scarecrow are probably much better fits for the band than Interstellar Overdrive, but I still think that if they played it, it would be awesome.

Sorry, but "Interstellar Overdrive" and any Pink Floyd for that matter, as awesome as it is or isn't in any one's eyes, would not really help make a better Features set. I'm not saying this to insult anyone, I'm just pointing out that it isn't the Features' style.

I think that with the exception of "Laid", the Features have always picked very recognizable songs from the 80s (or before in the case of Grapevine) and given a new spin on a good song which may not have had the best treatment when it was originally played in the studio (esp. Sweet Child o' Mine). Most of the songs mentioned in this thread don't really don't meet that.

It's also a thread that hadn't been replied to in four days that you just randomly decided to analyze. I don't really think that there should be some sort of hardcore criteria for what songs one should post. This post really is "I like this song, it would be great if the Features did it." So? Does that hurt anything? I really doubt that Rollum is going to read this and go "Yeah...yeah we DO need to cover Pink Floyd." The thread was laying dormant, let it sleep.

Sorry to cause so much trouble. I was unaware of the gravity of this subject. I just happened to have Piper at the Gates of Dawn lying on my computer desk and thought it would be cool to be at a Features show and hear them play something totally unexpected like "Interstellar Overdrive." I realized that it isn't really a song that fits their style, but it is a song that I would be very excited to hear them play. I will try not to do anything else that will cause such an uproar.

Critics seem to like to compare the Features to The Kinks. I love both bands, but don't really see a strong connection. Nevertheless, I have never heard the Features cover a Kinks song. I nominate "David Watts" (although I would be thrilled to hear them attempt anything by Ray Davies).
